This week we are showcasing of a number of spring term opportunities being offered by HEP schools, and partners, as we continue to build our school to school offer - including remote learning CPD with Reach Academy, SEN training in partnership with Lindon Bennett and our Meet the Expert series with LWA. 

Remote learning CPD for teachers and senior leaders

Cross phase - first sessions Thursday 4th Feb


Led by Reach Academy, one of the EdTech Demonstrator Schools, it will take place on Thursdays in February at 3.30 for teachers and 4.30 for leaders. The short course will provide training both for teachers on Remote Teaching and Learning approaches and for Senior Leaders on strategy for hybrid and remote Online Education. 
 
For teachers we have EdTech CPD sessions on: 
Principles of lesson design in remote learning - [4th Feb @ 3.30]
Modelling and exposition in remote learning - [11th Feb @ 3.30]
Assessment and feedback in remote learning - [25th Feb @ 3.30]
 
For leaders we have sessions focusing on: 
Development of CPD to support remote learning - [4th Feb @ 4.30] 
Roles and responsibilities across the school in remote learning - [11th Feb @ 4.30]
Strong pastoral programmes - [25th Feb @ 4.30]

SEN: Supporting pupils with
toileting needs

in partnership with Lindon Bennett

This practical course, with expert training from Clare Jenkins, will help delegates understand their responsibilities with regards to supporting the toileting needs of pupils in schools. Delegates will learn how to work with pupils and families to support toileting needs within the school environment.

By the end of the two-part course, delegates will:

  • Have a fundamental understanding of their responsibility to support toileting needs in schools.
  • Have an understanding of the different stages and strategies for supporting toileting needs in the school environment.

Dates: 

  • Thursday 4th February 2021 3pm – 4.30pm 
  • Thursday 11th February 2021 3pm – 4.30pm

Training is delivered via MS Teams. Links & resources will be sent to delegates before the session.

Primary Curriculum Resources

The first set of ‘Deep Dive training sessions with Andy Phillips’ is underway for primary members. There has been a positive response so far with over 200 delegates participating, however many subject leaders are unaware of the high quality subject-specific resources on offer on the HEP website. All subject leaders can access the Primary Curriculum in the ‘Resources’ section of the website using this link:

In addition, to support the deep dive training back in school, each participating school Headteacher has been emailed the content and tasks being set for delegates between sessions one and two.

Invite to all HEP members


HEP would like to invite you to sign up, at no cost, for the spring term LWA Headteachers meeting on Tuesday 2nd Feb from 8am with guest speakers Sam Sims on the impact of the school culture on teacher retention and pupil attainment as well as Hope Virgo the Author of Stand Tall Little Girl, and an international leading advocate for people with eating disorders.
