As per last year we will have our own Hounslow wide agreed judgement section on the portal, launching on 21st May, which will be as follows:

Harlequins Foundation Summer ‘Robot Rugby’ Offer

Free two-hour introductory Robot Rugby sessions

HEP is pleased to share an exciting and interactive Harlequins-inspired coding experience for pupils of all ages. Inspiring young people with the world of STEM education, using Sphero EDU technology and a team of 'Bolt' robots, pupils are encouraged to explore and collaborate in small groups to recreate some historic Harlequins moments!

To benefit from the free two-hour introductory offer, you will need ten of your teachers to register for the Premiership Rugby Champions app. This is an interactive cross-curricular digital app supported by the CVC Foundation and BT Supporters Club, and developed to inspire primary school children to get moving whilst developing important life skills.

Opportunity for local schools next academic year

HEP would like to share information from Reach Academy Feltham.

Reach Academy Feltham, in partnership with Marjory Kinnon this year, has developed it's Reach Teacher Training programme. We are opening this up to other local schools next academic year.

If you have great unqualified staff this is a route to them gaining QTS. You nominate them for an assessment centre. If successful they will be placed in your school for the year, OR you can request to be allocated a trainee from our central pool. You get to interview them before accepting.

Trainees receive a full day of theoretical and practical training each Wednesday at Reach Academy. Reach Teaching Training will provide all training for mentors and trainees, remote and in-school support and quality assurance visits at zero cost to the host school. You will commit to providing your trainees with mentors (Reach will cover £1,500 of costs towards each mentor), and a gradually increasing timetable.

SEND Training For HEP Schools This Summer 

Book now for Zones of Regulation in Action training in partnership with Oaklands School

The focus for this summer term cross phase training is Zones of Regulation in Action and is suitable for SENCOs, teachers and teaching assistants. The training will be delivered by Kamal Riar of Oaklands School, over two sessions.

Both sessions must be attended.
Date: Monday 7th June 2021 and Monday 14th June 2021 Timings: 3pm – 4:30pm

The course will cover:
● An explanation on how self-regulation typically develops and insights on the underlying deficits that may be impacting a pupil’s ability to regulate, such as sensory processing, emotional regulation, social cognition, and executive functioning
● The Zones of Regulation curriculum is explored highlighting strategies to teach students to become more aware of and independent in navigating their emotions and impulses, managing their sensory needs and improving their ability to problem-solve conflicts
● Practical ideas are provided on how to incorporate Zones into classroom practice
