Youth Gambling and Gaming – Online Training

Wednesday 3rd March 2021, 10 - 12.30

HEP would like to share information about online training run by The Young Gamers and Gamblers Education Trust (YGAM). Youth gaming and gambling harm prevention online training will cover:

  • How young people are increasingly exposed to gaming and gambling
  • The influence of advertising, particularly around sporting events
  • The role of social media, in game purchases, loot boxes and Esports
  • The signs of harm and where to seek help
After completing the training, delegates will receive a digital City & Guilds certificate to evidence their CPD, along with access to over 450 age appropriate resources and activities across all year groups, written by youth workers and teachers, including ‘ready to go’  lesson plans, information sheets, PowerPoints and infographics. We cover KS2 to KS5 in schools and youth work resources for ages under 13, under 16, and 16+.

Hounslow Virtual Careers Fair

Love Your Career - 3rd March 2021 2pm-8pm 

HEP are pleased to announce 18 schools have signed up to participate in the Hounslow Virtual Careers fair on the 3rd March. Individual students will begin registering and signing up this week for what will be a great opportunity to find out more about career options, ask questions and listen to Hounslow alumni tell their stories.

Primary Science Meet-Up for Subject Leaders

HEP offers further subject leader support

In addition to the Subject Leaders programme, HEP is pleased to announce that, together with Corinne Stevenson, Consultant Adviser for Science, a Primary Science meeting has been scheduled for subject leaders. 

This hour-long meeting will be held on Tuesday 16th March 2021 from 4:15-5:15pm via Zoom.

The purpose of this meeting is to give Science leaders an opportunity to share good practice as well as identify areas in need of support. The issues raised in this meeting will shape the twilight session which Corinne will lead on Tuesday 4th May 2021 from 4:15-5:45pm via Zoom.

A Teacher’s Guide to Behaviour – Free CPD - two twilight sessions with Tom Bennett

Hounslow CPD is pleased to share information about some excellent CPD with Tom Bennett, the UK government's behaviour adviser for schools.

The following sessions are available to all teachers:
2nd March – Behaviour, routines, consequences, 3.45 pm - 5.15 pm including Q&A

8th  March – Remote learning and classrooms during COVID, 3.45 pm - 5.15 pm including Q&A

If not a previous user of Hounslow CPD, you may need to set up an account. Where requested please allocate a name of a member of admin staff from your school. There are no charges to school as this is a wholly funded event. Zoom links will be sent out closer to the sessions. The sessions are funded by Hounslow SACRE (Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education).
