COACHING AT WORK CONFERENCE
Diversity & Inclusion with Felicia Lauw.

We are delighted that AOCS member Felicia Lauw was on the Coaching at Work Conference Panel as part of the Diversity and inclusion session on Thursday.
Felicia invited attendees to notice, to be seen, and to connect with one another. We were struck by a beautiful exercise that allowed us to side by side, be curious about our differences, and discover what is common between us, one relationship at a time.

Although the conference has ended, you can find out more about the sessions here.

VOLUNTEERS AND HELPERS
Could you be a volunteer?

We are seeking help across a range of roles and in various capabilities to go towards keeping AOCS developing and moving forward. Like many coaching associations that operate with 'no one on the payroll', a network of eager volunteers is essential, so any spare hours you can offer across a range of tasks and projects would be invaluable.

You can find a list of our regional and country coordinators
here, which also highlights where there are specific vacancies which we'd welcome new volunteers for.

AOCS EVENT UPDATES & UPCOMING EVENTS
CO-SUPERVISION SPACE
With Michelle Lucas and Yvette Elcock.

We had another fabulous session on Friday the 4th of November 2022 with 8 participants participating in the ethical practice – i.e., on each other and not their clients – of Transpersonal Coaching Supervision Techniques. Transpersonal psychologies integrate wisdom from ancient spiritual traditions with modern Western psychology.

Our 3 techniques were as below and on the day our poll showed the following split across the techniques:
  • 3/8 - 38%: Centring
  • 5/8 - 63%: Ideal Model
  • 0/8 - 0%: What’s my environmental footprint?
We had a great debrief including:
  • Ideal Model – Step 2: Invite the supervisee to sit comfortably being important, and an added suggestion to ask the client “to go to a place you care about” as another way of working point a)
  • Centring – this had a mixed reception with a range of finding it a ‘self-contained isolating experience’ to wanting to add more emphasis to “expanding your awareness from the centre of your being to all directions”.
The closing word cloud had this range of reactions:
FINAL CO-SUPERVISION SPACE SESSION OF 2022.
Michelle Lucas and Yvette Elcock say 'we have put our heads together in the hope that we can end the year on a high. It has been a great two years meeting AOCS members through the Co-Supervision Space; we hope you’ve reaped the benefit too.
To this end, we’ve put our thinking hats on to come up with 3 options for you to decide what best suits your agenda on the day. To ensure we are not rushed we will return to using a full two hours rather than 90-minutes.'

Don't miss the final session of the year.
