Woodside Mayor Ned Fluet
Dear Neighbor,

I hope you are well and staying safe. Here are some important safety updates.

Potential PSPS Starting on Sunday (10/25)

The Santa Cruz Mountains will be under a fire weather watch from 11 A.M. Sunday through 11 A.M. Tuesday. PG&E is monitoring the weather conditions and the potential for a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) that could affect San Mateo County, including parts of Woodside, starting Sunday evening. Initial indications are that a PSPS event could take place in the areas generally south and west of the Thornewood Open Space Preserve.

Information regarding whether your home may be affected by the PSPS can be found here

Additional information about PSPS events can be found here.

Red Flag Warning

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for all areas of San Mateo County starting tomorrow (Sunday 10/25) at 8:00 PM until Monday (10/26) at 11:00 AM. Unseasonably strong winds combined with extremely dry vegetation have the potential to cause fast moving and damaging fires. A wind advisory has also been issued. Please remain vigilant, safe and alert.

More information regarding red flag warnings can be found here.

In advance of
Halloween next weekend, San Mateo County Health prepared this Halloween Safety Guidance. This guidance outlines safer ways to celebrate Halloween and Día de los Muertos during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. They also prepared this handy one page guide. Have fun next weekend but please stay safe and mindful of the ongoing pandemic.

Town Council Meeting.
A Town Council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday (October. 27) at 7 p.m. Here is the agenda and dial-in information. Among the items on the agenda, are the installation of EV charging stations at town facilities as well as the development of public parking at the Woodside Village Church.

As always, the public is welcome to attend and speak on any agenda items. The public may also address the Council on any matter not on the posted agenda at the beginning of the meeting. However, the Council is not able to undertake extended discussion or act on non-agendized items.

Have a safe week.

As always, I am here to answer your questions and address your concerns. I post regularly on my Facebook page regarding Town and County news if you want more information.

Take care of your families and neighbors.
