I hope you are doing well. Here are a few updates from the county and town. 

COVID-19 Update

This week, San Mateo County moved into the less restrictive “
orange tier” which allows the easing of certain restrictions and most indoor businesses to operate with modifications.

With the move to the orange tier, the following venues can open indoors with modifications:
  • Shopping malls 
  • Places of worship 
  • Dine-in restaurants 
  • Offices (non-essential businesses) 
  • Bars/Breweries (where no meal provided) 
  • Movie theaters
  • Gyms & fitness centers, including indoor pools

County Multijurisdictional Local Hazard Mitigation Plan

The County, led by the Office of Emergency Services, has begun to develop the County’s updated Multijurisdictional Local Hazard Mitigation Plan to address threats such as earthquake, wildfire, flooding, extreme heat, and landslide.

The County needs your help identifying solutions to the problems associated with natural hazards. For Phase 1, the public is invited to participate in the hazard mitigation plan by:
An updated Multijurisdictional Local Hazard Mitigation Plan will serve as a meaningful template for a more resilient and sustainable San Mateo County.

District 4 Planning Commissioner Vacancy

The Town is currently accepting applications from Woodside residents to fill a planning commissioner vacancy for District 4. A map of District 4 can be found here.

The Planning Commission is a volunteer commission that participates in the administration of the planning laws and policies of the Town. During COVID-19, the Planning Commission meets virtually on the first and third Wednesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. 

If you are interested or know someone who may be interested, you may check residency requirements, request information, and submit applications to the Town Clerk by emailing Jennifer Li at 

The deadline to apply is Friday, April 2, 2021, by 5:00 p.m.  More information can be found here.

Town Council Meeting

The Town Council will meet virtually this Tuesday (3/23/21) at 7:00 p.m. The full agenda can be found here

This week, the Town Council is considering the following new agenda items:
  • Transitioning the Town from a From-District to a By-District election system
  • Supporting the Woodside Rd. bike safety improvements east of I-280 Project  
  • Expressing support for actions to further strengthen local democracy, authority, and control as related to local zoning and housing issues  
  • Establishing the speed limit on Farm Hill Blvd. between I-280 and Woodhill Dr. as 40 M.P.H. 
  • Approving agreements for town attorney services and town manager's employment agreement
