Woodside Mayor Ned Fluet
Dear Neighbor,

I hope you are well and staying safe. Here are some important updates.

County Moves Into Orange Tier

Last week, the state announced the easing of certain restrictions on businesses, indoor and outdoor gatherings and other activities in San Mateo County. With the risk from coronavirus now officially declared “moderate,” the county moves into the less-restrictive orange Tier 3 in the state’s four-tier, color-coded plan for reducing COVID-19 with criteria for loosening and tightening restrictions on activities. More information can be found here.

Wearing a face covering in public and following social distancing guidelines are still required in San Mateo County by order of the Health Officer.  Other key behaviors we must all continue to practice are outlined in the Health Officer’s Statements.

Greenwaste Neighborhood Clean-Up Day

This Saturday (11/7), Greenwaste will conduct another Clean-up Day in Woodside.  The event will take place at Woodside Elementary School from 8 am to 11 am. Items will not be accepted after 11 am. Also, you must bring the Greenwaste notice that you received in the mail. More information and the social distance protocols can be found here.

Woodside Arts & Culture Committee First Friday Event

This Friday (11/6), the Woodside Arts & Culture Committee is hosting its monthly First Friday Zoom Event. This month, art historian will be presenting on painter John Singer Sargent.  More information can be found here.

Scouts Fire Safety Project

Scout Troop 64/4064 in Portola Valley, which includes kids from the Skylonda area, is doing a fundraiser/service project in which a group of Scouts will come to your home and do fire safety clearing. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to wildfire victims. See the flyer for more information regarding this great project.

Thank you!

Thank you to the residents of Woodside for entrusting me with another term on Town Council. I look forward to continuing to serving the Town and its residents.

Congratulations to Jennifer Wall and John Carvell on their election to Town Council, and to Chris Shaw on his re-election. Thank you to Councilmembers Tom Livermore and Daniel Yost for their years of service to our Town and County. You will both be missed on Town Council.

Have a safe weekend.

As always, I am here to answer your questions and address your concerns. I post regularly on my Facebook page regarding Town and County news if you want more information.

Take care of your families and neighbors.
