New prayer group

A new Prayer Group will be starting in September!

We are, of course, in a vacancy and it will be some time before our next vicar arrives. We must take our steer from God, so constant, committed, faithful prayer is an essential part of the process of finding our new vicar.

Not everyone can be involved directly in appointing the next incumbent, but everyone can be deeply involved in the process through prayer. There is no expectation for you to lead or say prayers out loud, but it is important to bring the parish together in prayer.

If you are interested in joining the prayer group, please let Heather or Peter know and also let us know if there are particular times that would suit you best. Our initial thoughts are that it could be a Saturday breakfast prayer group, held in the Lady Chapel in St Luke’s.

House group restarting

House Groups are a wonderful way to grow your Christian faith, in a relaxed and informal setting. The House Groups had to stop when the pandemic and lockdown restrictions arrived last year, but they will be restarting again this Autumn.

It is planned to have a monthly morning and evening session, which will initially be held in the Lady Chapel at St Luke’s. If you are interested in coming to the house group, please let Heather or Peter know, then we’ll work out which day is most suitable.

Clay Hill Health & Wellbeing Centre

We are excited to announce the launch of Clay Hill Health and Wellbeing Centre, which is a fantastic opportunity for us as a parish to put our church facilities to use to serve the local community. We will be working in partnership with Enfield Health and Wellbeing Centre (EHWC) to set up a range of activities aimed at our local community.

The Enfield Health & Wellbeing Centre is a family run, not for profit organisation providing affordable services and activities for people over 50.  Their services are aimed at keeping people active, making friends, and providing advice and information on a wide range of topics. They already work with other local churches.

Our Coffee and cake morning last Wednesday was a real success, thanks to everyone who came along! See some photos below. A programme of activities and events is being developed. All welcome this Wednesday 15th September at St Luke's church, 10am. Please do come along to enjoy this event and let us know what you are interested in.

Harvest gifts

We will be celebrating Harvest on Sunday 3rd October, 10am at St Luke's. Please start putting aside your Harvest gifts which will go to the local Food Bank. Non perishable items only.
