Jennifer Clark - music composer, producer, bass player
Thank you for the incredibly welcoming response to my first newsletter. To celebrate this and Christmas. I've included a remix of Ascendant from the Ascan EP for you to download in this one.

First, here is the news :-)
Ascan EP by Jennifer Clark

Ascan around the world

I honestly had no idea how Ascan would be received, and the positive response has been amazing! As well as pleasing sales in the UK I've posted CDs to Europe, Australia & Canada too. Tracks have been played on local radio and also on American university radio station KDVS 90.3FM.

Intriguingly, an earlier instrumental release Murphy has been played repeatedly on an Indian streaming service, similar to Spotify but specialising in Bollywood and other regional music!

Cal Album Launch

Cal band Album Launch Concert

I saw Cal and his band playing at the Oran Mor in Glasgow in September, and thought they were a fabulous live act - they even have an actual real piper! Then in November Cal asked if I'd like to join them - well how could I refuse! I'm delighted to be joining the band for Cal's new album launch at the Tolbooth in Stirling on Friday 15th February.

Tickets available from the Tolbooth website - hope to see you there!

Last year I played the HRH Prog festival in Pwllheli, Wales with Alan Reed. It was such a great experience and atmosphere I went back this year as a member of the audience. Arthur Brown and his band were absolutely stunning, as was Martin Turner of Wishbone Ash, Martin BarreKrankschaft and new guys Axiom.

I also enjoyed the The Prog Before Christmas, a fabulous annual event in Glasgow organised by Abel Ganz. I was hoping to buy a copy of their new CD, but alas they have not released it yet! An excellent performance nonetheless from them, Comedy of Errors and Galahad, the latter with my pal Mark Spencer out of Alan Reed's Daughters of Expediency. Speaking of which...

Alan Reed Live

Upcoming Alan Reed Gigs

We'll be playing at the Trinity Live festival at Leamington Assembly on May 11th, and Prog in the Park in Dunfermline on Saturday 6th April. It's always a pleasure playing with these guys, and will be a great show. Hope to see you there!

Moving Forward

In 2017 I produced the debut album of Liz Jones & Broken Windows, and it's been wonderful to witness the continuing success of that and the band as a live act. The track Broken Windows has been featured on Jock's Juke Joint, a recent compilation of the best new Scottish talent, and I'm really chuffed that they'll be coming back to record their second album at my studio in 2019.

Meanwhile the successor to Ascan is already coming together in both my mind and studio. This time it will be a full album!

Thank you for your interest and support - your free download of the Ascendant remix can be downloaded from here. You may have to right click to save it.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and looking forward to seeing you at the diverse gigs I'll be playing in 2019.

Ho ho ho!
