These Bones Gonna Rise Again
A big thank you to all the faithful friends of the princess and mouse! I couldn't have asked for a more enthusiastic response to last month's game tribute artwork. For those who missed out on the limited-edition print release but still wish for a souvenir of past dungeon adventures, I've done a second Prince of Persia-inspired artwork this month, called "Bones." Details are in today's blog post.

My published journal The Making of Prince of Persia ends in January 1993 -- four months before the release of Prince of Persia 2: The Shadow and the Flame. Since this year is POP2's 30th anniversary, I thought it would be a good occasion to continue the story.

Three weeks ago, I started posting 30-years-ago-this-week journal entries on social media. Next month, I'll add them to the Library page as a proper ongoing feature.
This week in February 1993, I was building the last POP2 levels, eager to wrap it up so I could devote my full attention to my next project -- "train game."

A Prisoner Escapes
I'm excited to make a special announcement especially for French readers. Book Two of Monte Cristo, my new graphic-novel trilogy with the wonderful Italian illustrator Mario Alberti, will be in bookstores March 22. You can read about it here.
-----

News feed
I recently installed a free, open-source RSS reader, and wonder why I ever stopped? Not just a relic of the pre-AI, ad-driven-algorithm days, RSS is still the best way to follow news that the internet has invented yet. For those interested, jordanmechner.com now once again has an RSS feed (bilingual English/French).
Next month's newsletter will jump thirty, then twenty years into the past, with new announcements of special interest to retro-Prince of Persia fans. See you soon on March 21!
Meanwhile, I made this sketch a week ago, in Paris.
