Replay: A graphic novel memoir
I'm excited to finally share the project that's absorbed my creative energy and passion for the past two years. [Vous pouvez lire l'intégralité de mon billet d'aujourd'hui en français ici.]
REPLAY is a personal graphic memoir of three generations--interweaving my youth and career making videogames through the 1980s and 90s, my father's odyssey as a child refugee in Nazi-occupied France, and my grandfather's experience as a teenage Austrian conscript on the Russian front of World War I.
(In the photo above, I've just given my brother David his advance copy. Of course, he instantly found a page where he appears--at age 16, after I shanghaied him into service as the Prince of Persia rotoscope model in 1985. I'm in New York this week, visiting my family and sharing the freshly-printed book in which so many familiar places and faces appear.)

REPLAY lands in French bookstores tomorrow, April 26. You can read my blog post about Replay here, and get a free preview or pre-order the English edition (coming in early 2024) from the Replay book page. In the longer post, I explain how my family's 20th-century journey through two world wars is connected to my own history making video games, and why this project is so important to me. I can’t wait for you to discover it.

Dagger of Time
The third in my series of video game-inspired limited-edition artworks, "Dagger," is now available exclusively here (while supplies last). This one is my homage to the great Ubisoft team I had the privilege to work with to make The Sands of Time 20 years ago, and to the wonderful community of fans whose loyalty has kept the flame alive.

For those who don't read French or aren't in France, I'm counting the months until the English versions of Replay and Monte Cristo are out. Thank you for your patience, and for following me through these very France-focused first months of 2023! There's more coming (much more), I promise!
