Ubiquitous online state

A year of pandemic
Summer season is coming

Training Day about Vision

Spring is approaching with great strides and in our mission of JV Poland a lot is going on. Sit back, relax and read about the most important things that had been happening recently about the activities of English Camp and my ministry.
The pandemic and the ubiquitous online state cannot be and is not an obstacle to the mission. When exactly a year ago we cancelled the PreCamp training, which was to take place in h2o for over 130 people, none of us knew how long the necessary isolation would last. Then the situation was a shock and a great unknown. Today, with a slight joke in my head, I remember the crazy grocery shopping on the first day of the national quarantine and the search for yeast to bake bread and rolls at home for the first time in my life.

Even though everything changed, I'm trying to keep my priorities to remained the same in my ministry. Discipleship, mentoring, building relationships and finding those teenagers who seem to be unseen. Despite the difficulties, God blessed me with many precious moments.
On the left:  I took this photo yesterday (Thursday). My meetings with Weronika are full of conversation and questions about discipleship. We study Real-life Discipleship materials together. She is a great student and disciple. One hour later we skip into zoom call with Alicja (from the EC team) and enjoy Easter bible study together. I had finished that day with an Administrative Training for Polish Churches who are planning to do an English Camp this summer. It was a long day full of zoom calls.

On the right: Ola and I during "mission delivery". Ola was my "delivery man" and delivered to my home lots of ordered supplies that we sent to the participants of the retreat. It was so nice to meet with her face to face, go for a long walk together with coffee and chat a lot about life.

Summer season is coming! Trust me!!

The summer season is approaching really fast, and I think we are all very much looking forward to it. Despite the many question marks - we need to act, plan and train to be ready when it's time to vacation and camp. We know, however, that we are unable to do it alone. For a long time, God has been reassuring us that we need people to support us as an EC team and local communities during the summer.

In the fall, we made a decision and start to pray for a team of interns who, exceptionally (due to the pandemic), will be only from Poland this time. God answered our prayers and gave us 5 wonderful young people who, with a willing heart, aware of the challenges and hardships, decided to undertake a 10-week summer internship in the English Camp program. Each of them has a different story, different talents, so different strengths and weaknesses. Kasia, Ola, Patrycja, Konrad and Michał joined the EC team! We know that each of them will bring their IMPORTANT part to the team. My hope is that you will have a possibility to meet them this summer as see young Josiah in them.

Each of them needs to raise around $1,621 to cover 50% of the costs associated with the internship. Our EC team will raise the remaining amount for their support. We ask for your prayerful support in this process. Can you prayerfully consider your desire to be part of ministry to the younger generation and share its fruit through the financial support to our interns?

 130 teenagers, 20 youth leaders, 15churches, 17 different locations
and one full day of training.

On March 6, months of work and preparation of online training for leaders and Youth Ministry Teams from 15 cities in Poland was completed. This one-day, partly online, event was at the same time one of the most succinct and extremely intense in terms of a variety of content. 150 participants were able to take part in vision lectures and workshops, worship sessions, bonding activities and getting to know each other and the team. We worked on the preparations for this event in a team of eight exceptional missionaries that I had the opportunity to lead. We all believe that the training inspired the youth participating in the training to create new or return to a previously chosen vision. Training Day was also a refreshing time in reporting after a difficult lockdown time. After the training, one of the leaders said: It's nice that we could spend time as a group, rebuild relationships and plan activities for the coming months. It was a blessed time! Thank you once again and we keep going!
We officially ended the Training Day with a short review, in which we asked each participant to give us feedback about two examples of what did they learn during this training?  I choose those 3 out of many selected answers:
  • “It is worth having a clearly defined goal in order to know what you are aiming for. Thanksgiving is a crucial part of serving. We need to thank God even for the little things to see His blessings every day.”
  • “Relationships with participants outside the camp have a significant impact on their spiritual growth. Even if they wanted to, they would not be able to answer a number of difficult Christian questions. Without relationships with them, they would not come to the youth groups themselves.”
  • “The real meaning of ministry and responsibility for it. A true approach to prayer, a vision of teaching and the way of preaching. Showing that a team is needed, not individual people. New ideas for reaching other people.”
