Public Consultation: Sooke Master Plans:

Transportation • Parks and Trails

On July 9, there will be an opportunity for Sooke residents to comment on the Transportation Master Plan and the Parks and Trails Master Plan.

Pre-registration is required for the online consultation event on the District of Sooke's website.

Transition Sooke volunteers Jo Phillips and Hester Vair, part of our bird-dog team (see below), attended the Committee of the Whole where the plans were discussed and they were underwhelmed.

Download the plans, have a read, and tell council what you think on July 9.

Join Team to Bird-Dog Sooke Council

Transition Sooke has renewed the practice of sending observers to Sooke Council meetings (see above). We want to stay abreast of what our council is doing so that we can provide feedback on issues that are important to us and offer support for progressive initiatives.

We now have six volunteers, but we need more. Can you help?

The plan is to attend council meetings in teams of two in the role of observers. Each team would put together a brief report for the next Transition Sooke meeting.

If you are willing to join the team, please email Hester, at
