Welcome to the weekly Labour Students newsletter!

Every Friday, Labour Students will be in touch with info on what we've been up to, an update on specific campaigns and details for how students can get involved.

Get in touch if there's anything we can help with!

Welcome from our National Secretary:
Hello! I'm Jessica and I've just finished my year as Chair of Hull University Labour Club. I'll be spending the next year working in Parliament.

I'm super excited to crack on as National Secretary and make sure that Labour Students is the most powerful campaigning force that it can be.

Get in touch at nationalsecretary@labourstudents.org.uk if there's anything I can help with!

Launch of the Labour Students Further Education network!
For far too long, Further Education has been underrepresented in the student movement. There is far more that we can all be doing, including within our own movement.

This is why our Further Education Rep, Robin Auty, has launched the Labour Students Further Education network. Check out Robin's blog post to find out what the priorities for the year are and how you can get involved!

You can contact Robin with any ideas or suggestions at furthereducation@labourstudents.org.uk

Priority Campaign Update:
Following a vote of all members, our priority campaign for 2019/20 will be on fighting climate change!

This year's campaign will be launched at summer training (more info below) and we will be providing materials and campaign packs soon.

Get in touch if you would like to organise a campaign session on climate change at your Labour club!

People's Vote Campaigning Update:
Our National Chair, Rania Ramli, spoke at the recent Rally for Our Future event in Parliament this week, hosted by For Our Future's Sake. Alongside other People's Vote campaigners and Parliamentarians, Rania spoke about why Labour Students supports a People's Vote and will be campaigning for this over the next few months.

We will also be providing People's Vote materials as part of our freshers' packs so make sure you fill in the form to request these!

Let us know if you would like to get involved with our People's Vote work.

Solidarity with the Jewish Labour Movement
We would like to express our solidarity with JLM and all Jewish members of our party. The handling of antisemitism and response to the Panorama documentary have not been anywhere near good enough and we need urgent action.

Below is the statement that Labour Students put out following the release of the documentary:

Coming up:
1. Labour Students Summer Training
Summer Training this year is being held in Brighton from the 24th-25th August. More information and tickets will be available soon but get in touch if there are any specific things that you would like to have training on.
