TransRockies Race Series works closely with the Golden Cycling Club to maintain the Golden 24 course, and the track gets better every year! $12 per 24 hour rider and $6 per 8 hour rider are donated back to the Golden Cycling Club, plus we put in additional funds for repairs needed after the race each year. The GCC additionally works to improve the trails every year.
The 15km route climbs approximately 450m per lap. The trails are primarily blue (intermediate) with a few sections of black (difficult) trail. Most of the trails are smooth and flowy with some areas that are somewhat more rocky and technical. After an initial climb and descent on Berminator, the course mostly climbs steadily to the far south end of the loop on Rockabout. From there it’s all smiles back to the transition area with plenty of fast flowy singletrack and the big banks of Snake Hill! A final easy climb brings you back to Keith King Memorial Park. Check out the route on Trailforks HERE.
The fastest times on this loop approach 48 minutes, but most riders will complete a lap in 60-90 minutes. Check out the Leaderboard on Strava.
