With great joy we have received news that the effectiveness of the Covid-19 vaccines has permitted us to not only resume in-person, indoor activities, but that those who are vaccinated are largely able to resume activities in a normal way (such as not wearing a mask except in very close quarters, being less vigilant about social distancing, etc.). We have all been heartened to be in worship together in our sanctuary without our masks (mostly), able to sing our praises to God, and to be present with one another. Alas, this insidious disease is not over yet, and we are seeing yet another spike in cases, illnesses, and even deaths in our nation, state, and community.
Leaders of our church and I have been monitoring the situation closely and will continue to do so. At this time, we believe that we can continue to safely worship together in-person. Following on-going information from the CDC, we will ask that persons be mindful of social distancing during worship by sitting in every other pew (what used to be our "bubbles"). We are not requiring pre-registration for worship. We would ask that those who are not fully vaccinated wear a mask (and any other person who would like to wear a mask may obviously do so). Wash your hands or use sanitizer regularly.
We will continue to monitor our local numbers as well as advice from the CDC, the state Health Department, and other experts in order to respond to the ongoing pandemic as best as we can. We will also continue to stream our worship service on Facebook. Please continue to pray with me for healing, wellness, and an end to this scourge.
