Welcome to our first newsletter for Critical Media Practice, the secondary field for Harvard graduate students who are integrating media creation into their academic work.
"Unearthed" by Jessica Bardsley in the "Neither/Nor, Any/All" series at Kirkland Gallery

We have just launched a new CMP website with information about the program including requirements, resources, and selected projects.

Julie Mallozzi began in April as Administrative Director of the Film Study Center, which oversees CMP. Julie is a documentary filmmaker who studied at Harvard and San Francisco Art Institute, and has produced 100+ media projects for non-profit organizations. She is also returning to Harvard as Lecturer in Visual and Environmental Studies.

All CMP students are now required to present a work-in-progress of their capstone project to their CMP committee six months before their defense.  Students graduating this spring will have reviews in October or November.

This Summer CMP students Jessica Bardsley, Brandon Evans and Lindsey Lodhie presented installations at the GSD’s Kirkland Gallery in a series titled Neither/Nor, Any/All which explored the limits and possibilities of research as practice.
