Stour Valley Park public workshops

The Stour Valley Park Partnership is holding workshops this autumn for anyone who wants to help shape the future of their local area within this proposed regional park. 

On 9 October the workshop will be focusing on Hengistbury Head. Tickets for these in person events are free and include a small tour of the area.

Get involved with the Parks Foundation

Thanks to some amazing volunteers, The Parks Foundation have been busy creating community gardens in Alexandra Park and Winton Recreation Ground over the past few months with lots of vegetables harvested and donated to local charity, Hope for Food.

The Parks Foundation run lots of other activities and events for all the family and with autumn fast approaching there’s lots to do across our parks, so come and join in!

New planting at Whitecliff Recreation Ground

Next month our soft landscaping team will be working on a new planting scheme along Sandbanks Road.

The new plants will provide a fresh border comprising of rose hedges and dwarf pampus grass to replace the existing over-mature shrubs.

The Prince’s Trust Team Programme

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service working in partnership with The Prince's Trust have recently helped improve some of our parks through their Team programme.

They're now recruiting young people aged 16-25 who are interested in a personal development opportunity to their next programme which runs from 27 September - 17 December.
