Home testing update for early years providers
Following the announcement on 22 February, nurseries in the private, voluntary and independent (PVI) sector will soon have access to home testing kits through the COVID-19 education testing programme. PVI nurseries can expect to start receiving initial deliveries of testing supplies and instructions for use for asymptomatic testing from today, Thursday 11 March.

You will not need to place an order or take any specific steps to receive an initial delivery of testing supplies. The initial delivery of supplies should last around three to four weeks. Please read the letter in the link below for more information.

The Winter Fund Grant has been extended to cover the Easter holiday meaning we are able to provide a £30 supermarket food voucher for eligible pre-school aged children. Children are eligible for a voucher if they live in Bournemouth, Christchurch or Poole and meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • currently open to Children’s Social Care or Early Help and of pre-school age

Out-of-school club / wraparound care updated information
From 8 March, out-of-school settings and wraparound childcare providers will be able to offer indoor and outdoor provision to all children. However, parents and carers will only be able to access settings for certain essential purposes which you can find here along with the guidance set out from 29 March.

The government’s intention is then for out-of-school settings and wraparound childcare providers to be able to offer provision as normal, to all children, from the start of the school summer term. This will be no earlier than 12 April, and will be confirmed as part of step 2 of the COVID-19 Response - spring 2021.

Find guidance in the link below about considering group sizes and for group sizes under the age of five, please refer to the 'Actions for early years and childcare providers during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak' for information.
