We're thankful for our prairies AND our people.

June is a special month for prairies. June 4th was National Prairie Day. June 20-26 is Pollinator Week. And on June 22nd we'll be hosting nationally recognized conservationist Dwayne Estes for an evening webcast about the Southeastern Grassland Initiative that he co-founded.

We continue celebrating by featuring each Wednesday one of our many marvelous NPAT members -- Our Prairie People. It is a chance to recognize and give thanks to some of the many who inspire us to keep Texas prairie.

David Todd has always set his sights on caring for the land. It is in his genes. His nature.

Like so many folks, he became interested in conservation and the outdoors as a youth. His family talked lovingly about nature and applauded conservation efforts. They were dismayed when they witnessed the abuse of nature.
