Eco-bites: the urgency for climate action
Giving a new soul to global economy

 

Speaking about ecological urgency, Pope Francis urged us to “reflect on our accountability before those who will have to endure the dire consequences”. To fulfil this mandate, ecology must play a critical role in the future of economics and global justice. The Economy of Francesco cannot afford to run independent from the vision and purpose of Laudato Si'.

Jesuits on postponing COP26

Representing the Jesuit community, the Xavier Network sent two letters to European and African Union leaders to denounce the postponing of the 2020 UN Climate Change Conference (COP26). The letters where sent to Boris Johnson, Angela Merkel, Ursula von der Leyen and Cyril Ramaphosa. Read the implications of postponing the Conference to 2021 in the letter "Leave no-one behind!".

Fraternity and Social Friendship

The group "Passion for Europe", together with JESC, invites all interested to a Zoom Conference on November 28 on "Europe - An Evolving Family of Peoples. Pope Francis' Vision of Fraternity and Social Friendship". The event will be dedicated to the recent letter of Pope on Europe and on "Fratelli tutti", where the Pope stressed the need for integral ecology.
