As I walked the grounds yesterday, amongst the beautiful fall leaves and the many camellias, I thought how thankful I am for Weymouth and all the gifts it brings me: Friendship, community, culture, service, an extended family. In this year fraught with upheaval, fear, and constant change, Weymouth Center’s beautiful landscape and open spaces offer a shelter from the storm - a place to enjoy a moment of solace, a place to feel thankful.
Even though we had to cancel our Holiday Festival: Miracles at Weymouth for this year, we do have some special Weymouth holiday season extras coming your way!
Topping the list is YULE ROCK! An amazing raffle sponsored by Kvell Vodka features a Fender Stratocaster Electric Guitar, Drum Kit, a cool purple Christmas tree decorated with lights and glass musical instruments including guitars, pianos, Moscow Mule copper cups, chocolate chip cookies, wafer cookies, Ashten’s $50 Gift Certificate, a wooden box full of all the Kvell spirits in different sizes, lots of assorted glassware, with more being added daily! Tree provided by Worth and Tina Mitchell, additional gifts provided by Casino guitars and Ashten’s restaurant. Take a stroll down Broad Street and look at the window at Casino Guitars. See all that you can win on display! The raffle tickets will be available next week and we'll post information about that. Soon, buy a ticket or two - gift yourself or be someone’s Rock ‘n Roll Hero while supporting Weymouth. Raffle drawing will happen before Christmas so it can be in your house for Christmas Eve!
If you are like me and don’t bake Christmas cookies, but love the taste of cookies from your childhood, the Women of Weymouth have a special treat for you! Drop by the Cookie Extravaganza on Saturday, December 12 from 10:30-1:30. They will have home-baked cookies, and specialty goods available by donation. Everything in increments of $5, cash or cheque preferred. I cannot wait! Our beautiful Christmas Cards are available now. You may order by emailing: Marianna at: firstname.lastname@example.org, and picking up at Weymouth. Or, drop by the Cookie Extravaganza on the 13th where they will be on display along with other Weymouth items. They are beautifully packaged and make lovely gifts if you aren’t the card-writing type.
