We are beginning to read a new book, "
The Religion of the Apostles" by Fr Stephen De Young.
This is one of the best sellers among Orthodox books at the moment. The book "presents the Orthodox Christian Church of today as a continuation of the religious life of the apostles, which in turn was a continuation of the life of the people of God since the beginning of creation."
We meet via Google Meet; therefore, reply to this email to get the meeting link.
If you or someone you know need help getting to and from church on Sundays (or other days), please let Fr Aleksey know, or reply to this email.
If you would like to volunteer to drive someone to church on your way here, also tell Fr Aleksey.
As the cruel and unprovoked invasion of and war in Ukraine by Vladimir Putin tragically continues, we, as Christians living in the USA, will continue to pray and help in whatever way we can:

1. Pray - here is a link to
three Prayers for Peace.

2. Help - on the first page of our website - - you will find information for ways you can help either financially or with items donated. The information will be periodically updated.

May the Good Lord guard and protect those who are being bombed, wounded, and displaced, and grant eternal rest with His saints to all the lives already lost in this senseless war.
Do you eat? Give thanks to God both before and afterwards. Do you sleep? Give thanks to God both before and afterwards. Do all in the Name of the Lord, and all will be prospered to you.
- Saint John Chrysostom
Church School Garage Sale is coming up on Saturday, August 13.

If you have items to donate, please bring them to the Educational Center and leave them on the stage in the gym. If you are bringing something on a weekday, call the rectory at 973-256-0314, and someone will open the gym for you.

We also need your help setting up for the Garage Sale on Saturday, August 6, as well as on the day of the sale, and with clean up. If you are able to volunteer even an hour or two on any of the days, it will be greatly appreciated.

The Garage Sale is one of the fundraisers for our Church School. The funds are used for various classroom materials, and different outings we do for the kids throughout the year. By helping with the Garage Sale, you are helping our parish bring up the future generation of Christians today.

10% of all proceeds from the Garage Sale will be donated to the
IOCC to help the Ukrainian refugees who have been displaced because of the Russian invasion into Ukraine.

Lost and Found: Playing Hide and Seek with God

Adam and Eve famously hid from God in the Garden after they sinned. God sought them out, calling Adam by name. After the Resurrection, Christ appears to His disciples in an unpredictable manner. We ourselves are told to “ask,” to “seek,” and to “knock.” There is a mystery in this movement of hiding and discovery that marks both the lives of sinners as well as the life of God. What do we make of this? What is its purpose. How do we cooperate in a helpful manner?
