"A vigorous club in robust health, with very strong fundamentals"

The words of Club President John Reid during last month's successful AGM. For those who couldn't brave a cold Tuesday night at Myreside, John's report is linked below.

A surprising post-season bit of silverware was delivered to Myreside in the form of the ESCA Division 1 Fair Play Award for the 2nd XI. How did that happen?!

Following success in organising Love Island and World Cup themed nights, Social Convener Andrew Chalmers turns his attention to his next event in December. Details below.

I have now completed my first year as President and, not being a WCC “lifer”, it took some time to get to grips with the club, although it’s fair to say, that I have not yet delved into every nook and cranny!

2nd XI win Fair Play Trophy

The Second Team pipped Kirk Brae and Stewart's Melville to East League 1's Fair Play trophy.

The Trigger-Happy Twos gave an impressive an number of LBWs during the season (there's of course more to the fair play award than giving LBWs) of which S. Ramani was a rather unfortunate recipient of four against him! Thanks to incoming Club Secretary Robert Baltzer for collecting the trophy.

Simon Counsell's 3rd team combined the club's highest league finish with a second place in their respective league's Fair Play ladder.

The 4th Team came 7th - this despite ending up only 0.06 points off the Second Team's score. Cricket really is a game of fine margins!
