Larry's Baptism - Rick, Larry and Joe
|
|
The last several months have been full of men and woman committing their lives to a better tomorrow. Larry, a man without a family has found a family at Church on the Block. The confidence and security he has come into is propelling him to pursue a career as a heating and air conditioning technician. In addition, Larry recently recommitted himself to Christ and was baptized.
Terry, a woman who has been attending for over a year, also was baptized into the faith. She has come into a new awareness of her value and worth in the eyes of God which has prompted her to make some deep character changes in her life.

One of our greatest joys is when someone who has never lived on their own learns to support themselves and begins to live independently. Dennis, a man who was incarcerated for thirty years is one such man. Dennis recently moved into a shared house with two friends and is demonstrating a new ability to make it on his own. We are privileged to play any role we can in these efforts.
Lastly, a woman named Carol who attends a partnering church, has began her new life of sobriety this week. Through our connection with The Good News Home, a Christ centered woman's rehabilitation center, we were able to help facilitate getting Carol into this wonderful long-term program.

Building Into Lives
There are many challenges in working in a poor, high crime, urban area like Trenton, but we believe God has strategically placed us here for such a time as this. As the holidays approach we are committed to putting skin on the love of God and making a lasting difference in people's lives. We do this by consistently meeting with the people we minister to and looking for ways to help improve the quality of their lives.
Thank you so much for your love and support. We know that we're all in this thing together. As the ancient proverb says, "Go alone and go fast, but go together and go far!"
