A Message from Pastor Tony

“Life is what happens to you when you're busy making other plans”. John Lennon.  In the midst of a world that is spinning like a top, this quote from John Lennon is proving itself to be true.  One thing that is more clear than ever to me is the illusion that we are in control and can map out our futures.  The wonderful thing about a world that is turning upside down is that it is a reminder that we serve a God who never changes.  Indeed, He is the only thing that is constant and remains the same yesterday, today and forever.
We at Street Church Ministries have been privileged to have a ring side seat in witnessing the Lord move in the hearts and lives of those He loves within our Trenton Community.  Although our gatherings have been divided among virtual and in person meetings, God has continued to move and touch people’s lives.  Two men in particular come to mind.

We met Chas and Michael while ministering on the streets six weeks ago.  Both men have been actively participating in our weekly meetings and look forward to the fellowship they are receiving every week.  Chas spent 15 years inside Rahway Prison and struggles with addiction.  Since coming, he has opened up about his past in great detail and looks forward to discussing the pain in an effort to work through it.  Michael is a man with grave health issues.  He suffers with both liver and kidney damage as well as Hepatitis A and D.  It appears he has no one besides Chas and his sister in his life. Michael is finding the friendship of God within our fellowship.

When we meet Michael he was sleeping on a blanket on the floor.  As a result of your support, we were able to bless Michael with a bed. The next day he shared that he had the best night of sleep in a long, long time.
One of our members, Dennis has a cousin with significant health issues who lives in a high crime area within Trenton. When we visited to pray for her, it was clear how difficult her situation is, she had no lights in her apartment.  Within a couple of days, we were able to provide lighting for the downstairs of her apartment.  She plans on moving and when she does, we hope to be able to meet some of her needs in her new place.
Just this past Saturday we held our Block Outreach, “Pizza and Prayer”.  We bought ten pizzas and set up on the corner of the block.  After a short time the pizza gone, but more importantly we had the opportunity to meet and pray for many people.  Two of our church members, James and Dennis, were laying hands and praying over people the entire time.  What a blessing to play a small role in what Dennis and James were doing. This August we will have a back to school outreach for the kids in the community where we will supply bookbags and school supplies.
Although we live in a volatile world, the Love of God is unstoppable.  We at Street Church Ministries are committed to the unstoppable Love of God.  We are also committed to making this transforming love a reality in the lives of people living in crisis within our community in Trenton.  Thank you so much for your partnership and support of this ministry.  We are all in this together!
