Valued Partner,

On behalf of the team at Coastal Mississippi and our Board of Commissioners, I extend many thanks to our emergency management representatives from all three coastal counties and the State of Mississippi who kept our industry informed about what to anticipate from Hurricane Zeta. In addition, the efforts coordinated by the Harrison County Emergency Management Agency - County/Cities and ESF Partners Task Force were incredibly helpful as we anticipated the storm's potential.

As a destination that welcomes over 13.5 million visitors a year, Coastal Mississippi maintains a high level of advance preparedness for storms, and we are extremely thankful to our emergency services, elected officials, and incredible hospitality employees, who have been working hard to ensure that our beautiful Secret Coast rebounds as quickly as possible.

Our region is prepared to welcome visitors, though we do recommend travelers check with individual businesses to ensure they are aware of the latest updates. While the impacts of Hurricane Zeta were felt across our region, we are no strangers to natural disasters. The resiliency of Coastal Mississippi is unmatched, and we will come back even stronger than before.

Although we know our area was tested by the storm, we are resuming normal marketing and communications activities as we receive new information about damage assessment, including the openings and closures of industry partners throughout the Coast. At this time, we have paused paid media with the exception of our new gaming campaign rolling out this week. We know that a majority of our gaming partners are open or will be opening soon, and our visitors are excited to come back to the region to visit our beautiful properties. We will continue to monitor and make additional decisions, and our audiences will be kept informed about appropriate updates.

There is nothing more important than the health and safety of our residents and visitors. As always, we encourage you to follow the appropriate COVID-19 safety guidelines as we continue to welcome visitors to The Secret Coast.

We invite you to join us for a virtual update on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 2 p.m. CST to learn more about how we are continuing in our recovery efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Zeta. Register here or by clicking the image below.
Finally, please do not hesitate to reach out to our team should you have any questions. We thank you for your continued support and partnership.

Milton Segarra, CDME
