Dear Brother <<LNAME>>,

You are receiving this message because you are the Secretary of record (or at least the person performing the Secretary's duties) for <<COUNCIL>>.  If in fact you are not the current Secretary (or the person performing those duties), please e-mail the Grand Secretary at <AMD.Grand.Secretary@gmail.com> right away with the name, the postal address and, most importantly, the e-mail address of the current Secretary.  (If you are the current Secretary, please do not respond.)

2019 Annual Returns.

Your Annual Return for the year ending December 31st, 2019 is due by January 15th, 2020.  The form is a spreadsheet, so please complete it electronically and not by hand. Print a copy of your completed Annual Return and submit it with your fees.

There are several items to note when completing your Annual Return:

(i)  Make sure that the total number of members reported on line 4 on the front page is exactly the number of members in your Council.  If you have to make adjustments to the entries on lines 1 (a) - (c) to make this happen, then do so.

(ii)  Report all membership gains and losses in the appropriate tables on the back page.  Do not submit a separate report or roster in lieu of completing these tables.

(iii)  Make sure that the number of gains and losses reported on lines 2 and 3 on the front page agree with the changes reported in the tables on the back page.

Red Branch of Eri.

Councils may now nominate members for the Red Branch of Eri at any time during the year, not just with your Annual Return.  Please note that nominations received after January 15th, 2020 will be applied toward your 2020 quota.  A description of the four honors, along with the regalia and fees, may be found on the HONORS page of our website.  The form is a spreadsheet, so please complete it electronically and not by hand.  You may download the Red Branch of Eri nomination form from the DOWNLOADS page of our website or by clicking on the button below:

Annals and Miscellanea.

The 2019 issue of the Annals has been shipped. The local Council Secretaries should be receiving it by the end of November. As is our custom, each Council will be receiving one copy for each of its members.

The Publication Committee is currently editing a new issue of the Miscellanea from a backlog of well over one hundred papers that have been submitted for inclusion. They hope to have the selection and editing process completed within the next few months, with publication and distribution to follow soon afterward. In the meantime, any papers to be considered for publication should be sent in electronic format to the Grand Secretary at <AMD.Grand.Secretary@gmail.com>.

2020 Membership (Dues) Cards.

Membership (dues) cards for the year 2020 are being produced with the names and addresses of our members pre-printed on the cards. We hope to have these cards shipped to the local Council Secretaries by early December. For this first year using this new format, the cost of producing these membership (dues) cards will be borne solely by the Grand Council.

You will be receiving one card for each member on your rolls as reported on your last annual return.  If you receive a card for a former member or do not receive a card for a current member, report these changes to your membership rolls on your 2019 annual return.  Your shipment of cards will also include a few "blank" cards which you may use for missing or new members.
