Freya Josephine Hollick - The Real World

Cheersquad Records & Tapes are stoked to be releasing Freya Josephine Hollick’s album ‘The Real World’ today. The gestation of Freya’s new album was buffeted by the ebbs and flows of a tumultuous three years, constantly testing the artist’s resolve.
The Real World’ comes as a limited edition blue vinyl through the Cheersquad Bandcamp page, on pink vinyl through Artist First, on black vinyl, on CD and digitally. All vinyl includes a digital download card. Also available are bundles with Freya’s ‘Six Shooter’ t-shirt and the ‘Nobody’s No Better Than No One’ 7” single.
After recording in Joshua Tree with Lucinda William’s Buick 6, the sessions were brought back and shaped along with her Australian band and producer Roger Bergodaz, delivering four pandemic sustaining singles including ‘Nobody’s No Better Than No One’, ‘Impossible To Love’, ‘The Real World’, ‘Vivian, June, Dolly & Jolene’, and the latest single ‘Me & Mine’, all of which received official national radio additions.
In the background, label changes, a pivot to a new management and personal health and heart bound struggles were weathered, ultimately delivering new determination and a fresh team brimming with belief and positivity. That belief reflected in the new global arrangement with Cheersquad Records & Tapes helmed by industry stalwart Roderick “Wally” Kempton, a true believer and an ally in trusting wholly in the energy of Hollick’s art.

The Pictures - I Can’t Hold It Back

Melbourne trio The Pictures return with their first new music in 15 years in the form of a new single ‘I Can't Hold It Back’, the first taste of an LP, due early 2023. Available digitally, on limited edition marbled blue/black 7” vinyl, and on black vinyl.
The Pictures are the singing, songwriting and guitar-slinging vehicle for Davey Lane, best known as You Am I's "newest" member - he joined them on guitar in 1999. The Pictures, who also feature bass player Luke Thomas and drummer Brett Wolfenden, are known for their classic tunage and their meaty, beaty, big, and bouncy instrumental punch, which was heard on 5 EPs, 2 albums (including a Triple J Feature Album) and an odds and sods compilation.
Davey says: We’ve had more than enough time between drinks to shed the baggage and inject fun back into it - we can play and sing better than we ever could back in the day, and we’re coming up with new material that we simply didn’t have the depth of knowledge and experience to produce back then.

‘Force’ is the second single from the debut album ‘Well of Spells’ by Australian rock band Seawitch.
Seawitch is fronted by former Def FX lead singer, bestselling author and real-life Witch, Fiona Horne. Fiona has written fourteen books on Witchcraft, and her song lyrics are inspired by her Craft.
“Force is a song about the power inside every individual to transform their lives for the better. When my mind is troubled or my direction in life is unclear, and I’m seeking inner guidance, I write down my concerns about the situation. This song originated from that practice” - Fiona Horne
“Musically, Force is plain old simple high energy rock n roll birthed from the roots laid by late Sixties band, MC5. Blend that in with some filthy fuzz from like-minded rock n roll soldiers Thee Hypnotics, and some ghost of Jimi Hendrix, and we are getting close.” - Dave (Spiff) Hopkins
‘Well of Spells’ will be released October 2022, just in time for Halloween. Order your copy now!
Stop Trippin'

Cheersquad are thrilled to release "Stop Trippin’", the second single from Telecaster Diaries, an instrumental solo album by Melbourne guitarist and singer-songwriter Marcel Borrack (Minibikes).
Marcel Borrack is fascinated by broad influences, and has always challenged himself to develop new skills in technology and production, as well as writing and performing in different contexts. He’s previously released 2 solo albums, and two albums with his indie pop band Minibikes.
Marcel says about "Stop Trippin’": "Like sailing downwind into port or taking a summer stroll beside a cool stream, let the smooth calm wash over you and set your mind and body at ease. Stop tripping out on the hustle bustle of everyday life and make some time for yourself. You deserve it! Let the laid back rhythm and haunting Siren's call guide you to a place of calm and comfort. If you need a red-hot shot of calm down, why not "Stop Tripping’". Have some fun while you’re there, and take some with you when you go."
