Arts Education and Play at the Library
MUSIC BUNK

This is a music programme for teens and children at the library. In April,  the library was filled with the sound of music as we hosted our library programme, please see here to see what went down. Since June, Music Bunk graduates have been enrolled in a 16-week fellowship to further hone their musical skills in guitar, voice, recorder, percussion and violin. This programme also involves excursions to other partners across the city providing music-based programmes such as Art of Music (Ghetto Classics). The 2022 Music Bunk will culminate in a showcase concert, scheduled for August 27th 2022! See you then!
DANCE BUNK

We’ve partnered with Chezacheza Dance to offer Dance Bunk;  a movement and dance  programme that  uses dance to provide critical life skills to young children and teenragers. After a 9-week programme hosted at the Kaloleni and Eastlands Library every Saturday between 18th June 2022 and 20th August, participants will graduate at a colourful celebration of music and dance at the Eastlands Library on August 27th 2022!

All are welcome.

Building A World Of Play with Lego Foundation

We absolutely love seeing the newly renovated libraries packed with students diligently studying or working on their school assignments. But, we’ve recently been encouraging library users to find time to play as well when they are  at the library! Thanks to a recent partnership with Lego Foundation, playtime at the library just got a major upgrade!

Book Bunk is proud to participate in the #BuildAWorldOfPlay campaign that aims to build a future where learning through play empowers all children to become creative, engaged, lifelong learners.

We’re double grateful to Lego Foundation for donating bricks to #NRBLibraries which have already provided a beautiful means for our library users to connect with themselves through play!  Come play at the library this Saturday*!

* Games are available at the library throughout the week.

Our Programming Partner

We are also grateful to our official snack partner, Tropical Heat, who have supported library programming through provision of snacks for users. The partnership has covered our arts education and play programming this year.

Adding to #NRBLibraries inventory of new collections,
Tropical Heat have also donated 142 books to the Eastlands and Kaloleni libraries from our wishlist.  Asanteni sana!
