ATHLETIC BOOSTER CLUB JANUARY MEETING MINUTES:
Wednesday January 15th, 2020
WELCOME – Marc Wachter called the meeting to order at 7:02 PM. Marc began the meeting by informing everyone that the weight room has been completed and the painting is being finished. The sponsors, Gladwell Orthodontics and Planet Fitness, will be at the weight room on Monday, January 21 at 1 PM to take photos. Marc continued with the majority of the meeting discussing all possible fundraiser ideas. The first idea discussed is a Reverse Raffle which was done at Coach Joyner’s previous school. Coach Joyner explained how the reverse raffle would work. He said it was very successful at other schools. The Hall of Fame won’t make a profit, so discussing selling reverse raffle tickets there. Casino Night will be done next year, and discussed a group going to Panther Creek in February to see how they do theirs. Walnut Creek fundraiser with manning a stand at show. Starts in mid-April and 35 shows are scheduled. If we staff a stand, we need to attend all the shows. Ages 16 and up can work the stand. The money earned goes to our account. Old Liberty Golf Course approached the football staff about doing a tournament there for a fundraiser for football.
ATTENDEES: About 12 people attended the meeting and the information is in the notebook with the minutes.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Minutes were shared with the public using Mailchimp and approved.
Secretary, Renae Hill: Minutes from the December meeting were shared using Mailchimp.
Treasurer, Bryan Wooten: Bryan sent an email to officers on January 12, 2020 with account balances. The checking account balance is $17,288.47 and the team account balance is $56,672.17. ABC Account Balance ($39,383.70)
Athletic Director, Mike Joyner: Coach Joyner gave a detailed report about the budget and projections on the booster club account. Informed all attendees that teams have a 4 year rotation on uniforms, booster club pays for field maintenance, lining of all fields and all invoices are paid by the end of the year. No money is owed by the end of the school year. It takes a quarter of a million to run the athletics department. Construction has been pushed back to December 2020 on the football stadium. Survey started on December 16th, 2019. Fall Sports will continue at the school due to the delay.
Vice President, Jennie Elias: Jennie is continuing to send out the Sign-Up-Genius to all volunteers and coaches.
Apparel, Stephanie Walker and Karen Lester: Nothing new to report.
Banquet/Senior Nights: Kristen VanViegen: Nothing new to report.
Concessions Kristen VanViegen: Concessions open during Winter Sports. Nothing new to report.
Corporate Sponsorships: Nothing new to report.
Fundraising Coordinator: Kristin Rendina: Kristin was not present for the meeting. Karen Lester mentioned 2 ideas on fundraisers: Coaches and teachers vs students and donkey races.
PTSA Liaison, Larissa Moore: Nothing new to report.
Season Passes/Membership, LuAnn Wooten: LuAnn was not present for the meeting. Season passes are in the concession stand for anyone to purchase.
Volunteers, Jennie Elias: Jennie is continuing to send out Sign-Up-Genius to all volunteers and coaches.
