Dear Families,

I would like to congratulate all of our second graders who made their sacrament of reconciliation this last week. Thank you as well to all of our teachers and families who also helped prepare these children for this special event. What a blessing to be able to make reconciliation during Advent! Thank you as well to Fr. Mark and all of his brother priests who came to help with this as well.

This is the first year in the last six that we have had a full two weeks off at Christmas. I sincerely hope that everyone is able to spend time with family and reconnect for the holidays. The gift of cold weather is that we are able to focus on the inside of our homes and share that warmth with those we love.

When we return in January we will be getting ready for our Open House Event on January 26th from 9:o0 am-Noon. This event is geared to current and prospective families, parishioners and special persons! This year we will not be hosting the Kindergarten Visit Day. Instead, we are promoting attendance at our Open House where families will have a chance to interact with the classroom teachers and gain information about kindergarten programming. I sincerely encourage all families to plan to stop by even if for just 3o minutes.

May the Christ child bring you and your family the peace and love of the Christmas season.

In Christ,
Mrs. Blahnik

GO BEARS!

DRESS WARM IN COLD WEATHER
Students should be coming with a warm coat, hat and mittens/gloves now that the weather is getting colder.

WHEN SNOW IS ON THE GROUND
Once the snow is on the ground, students PK-5 MUST have boots, snow pants, jackets, gloves, and hats to play at recess.
SCHOOL-WIDE ADVENT PROJECT
We are encouraging students to earn these items at home by pitching in a little extra around the house. Maybe students can earn the items by doing something nice for someone else in the home without being asked, or by doing extra jobs to earn a few dollars in change to purchase their reverse Advent Collection item.
❄️December Monthly Collection❄️
This year we are going to be participating in a reverse advent calendar. Rather than treating ourselves each day leading up to Christmas, we are going to give a little to those in need.
Each classroom will be collecting one specific item to bring in on a particular day. This information is listed on the photo.
Our goal is to create 20 care packages for current SBS families who could use a little extra joy during the holidays.
Thank you in advance to all who donate! It will be exciting to see our collection grow each day as Christmas draws near!
