Federal acquisition regulations require certain contractors who do business with the Government to maintain acceptable business systems that reduce risk to the Government and taxpayer. Contractors may have up to six major business systems that require review and DOD’s acquisition regulation establishes criteria for each of the six types of contractor business systems, which are implemented by the inclusion of certain contract clauses.
Where a contract includes these clauses, the contractor’s business systems generally must meet the criteria. Factors such as the type of contract and the dollar value determine whether the clauses are included.
