Included in the Bi- weekly Brief is information on upcoming Listening Sessions. We encourage everyone to consider participating.
Greetings Members of the Churches of Lake Huron Presbytery:
In an ever-evolving world, we are called to pause, reflect and adapt to fulfill God’s promise. In this spirit, your Presbytery Council is seeking your input in creating the future of our Presbytery.
According to the Book of Order (G-3.01) “The presbytery is responsible for the government of the church throughout its district, and for assisting and supporting the witness of congregations to the sovereign activity of God in the world, so that all congregations become communities of faith, hope, love, and witness.”
In order that we may grow together in the Spirit, We need your help to fulfill this role. Council will begin the process during the business portion of the June Presbytery meeting. This will then be followed by regional listening sessions, in person and virtual. We are requesting at least 2 representatives of each congregation participate in a listening session. Scheduling for these sessions will be announced in the near future.
We seek your input on questions such as:
- 1. What has been the role of the Presbytery in regard to your congregation?
- 2. What would improve the way the Presbytery functions in relationship with your congregation?
- 3. How does your congregation participate in the life of the Presbytery of Lake Huron? How would you like to participate in the future?
We will send information on the listening sessions when they are scheduled and look forward to hearing from your members. Your input will shape the future form and function of our Presbytery.
Yours in Christ,
Rev. Glenn Grant
Moderator, Presbytery of Lake Huron
