To our Valued Clients and Colleagues,
We hope this email finds you well and safe in our current global situation. We wanted to take a moment to let you know what is going on in our office. Effective immediately, we are maintaining a regular working schedule, but have chosen to lock our doors in an effort to prevent exposure to, and to assist in limiting the spread of, COVID-19. We have a reduced number of staff present in the office, so if you need to get in contact with us for any reason please do so either by phone or email.
For those of you who are able to send your tax paperwork to us electronically, either by email or through our client portal, we will happily accept documents in that format. For those of you who are unable to provide documents electronically, we have a drop slot available at our office for you to utilize.
As you may already be aware, the Canada Revenue Agency has extended tax filing deadlines as follows:
Regardless of the extensions being granted, we do encourage you to provide us with your documentation as soon as you are able, so as not to defer the receipt of benefits such as the GST and Canada Child Benefit, or your income tax refund if applicable.
- For Trusts: May 1, 2020
- For Individuals: June 1, 2020
- For Tax Payments: August 31, 2020
As the status of this matter evolves, we will look to the BC Health Authority for guidance, and will update our policy accordingly. In these early stages, we are doing our best to find a solution that will work for most people. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
We sincerely thank you for your understanding.
