Prayer for the New Year
O God of new beginnings and wonderful surprises,
thank you for the gift of a new year.
May it be a time of grace for me,
a time to grow in faith and love,
a time to renew my commitment
to following your Son, Jesus.
May it be a year of blessing for me,
a time to cherish my family and friends,
a time to renew my efforts at work,
a time to embrace my faith more fully.
                     Walk with me, please,
in every day and every hour of this New Year,
that the light of Christ might shine through me,
in spite of my weaknesses and failings.
Above all, may I remember this year
that I am a pilgrim on the sacred path to you.

Table Blessing for New Year’s Day
God, our Father,
you chose the lowly maiden of Nazareth,
to become the mother of your eternal Son.
Through the intercession of her prayers
make us, your children,
grow daily in the love of you, our Father,
and in the love of all our brothers and sisters in Christ.
Send your blessings upon our table,
upon those who prepared this food for us,
and make us always mindful
of the needs of the poor and the hungry.
We ask this through Jesus Christ,
Son of God and Son of Mary.

The Solemnity of Mary the Mother of GOD

May your continue to know the peace of GOD’s love shining upon you and may you respond by seeking to do GOD’s will.

GOD continues to reveal to us what we should be doing with our lives.  We know that we are doing what is asked of us when we sense GOD’s presence and peace.  That does not mean that we have it easy.  Doing GOD’s will is challenging and sometimes unpredictable, but we can move forward with the confidence that GOD is blessing us.  That is what Mary was aware of as she said “Fiat” – “Let it be done” according to GOD’s will.

As we begin a new calendar year, we must prepare ourselves to be aware of GOD’s presence and willing to say “Yes” to whatever GOD has in store for us in 2021.  Be assured of my prayers for you throughout 2021.  A special prayer for all those with the name of Mary (Maria, Marie, Miriam, etc.) or who have a close relationship with Mary, the Mother of GOD.
Christmas 2020
Dear Parishioners,
Let us not be afraid to welcome our Lord Jesus Christ and share his peace with one another every day and be thankful.

Thank you to all.  To the following a very special thank you:
The ministers of the Word, extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion, ministers of hospitality (ushers)
The music ministry – organists Bruce, April, choirs, cantors
The “Tree Cutters” who cut the tree for our “Tree of Life” and brought it into the church, and Elisabeth A. who donated the tree
The craftsman who made the angels and crosses, and the artists who painted them
The work crew who helped prepare the church on Saturday & Sunday, December 19 & 20, and those who will help take down the Christmas decorations in the new year.
Those who prepared the beautiful nativity scene
Msgr Ed. Sheridan, Sister Barbara, Bruce, and Voisin-Sehl Family who prepared a virtual Christmas Pageant 2020, as well as all the volunteers who assisted
The support for the Notre Dame Children Outreach in Kenya.  This year’s total donation for the sisters, which includes the Bowing Angel, amounted to $3,546.15.
For the talented ladies in our parish, who came to share their talent and to create the most beautiful Christmas arrangements, which were placed on our window ledges.
The ambassadors of goodwill who delivered the Christmas dinners and the people who delivered the white poinsettias to the bereaved
The many who donated floral tributes in memory of loved ones (the gift box near the altar held their names and they were remembered during the liturgies throughout the Christmas season)
Our deacon Phong and his wife Jocelyn, Sister Barbara, administrative assistant Patrycja, collection counters
The parishioners for your many gestures of kindness, including all those special treats that were brought for the parish staff
The parishioners of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish and visitors to our parish for your spirit of faith and goodwill and for the joy your presence brought to our Christmas liturgies
As we gather in our wonderful church to be one with our Lord Jesus Christ, let us have the courage to share joyfully our faith through this coming New Year.

with prayer,
 Fr. Rafal
We mourn those who have gone before us in death
and continue with us in the Communion of Saints.
