During this difficult time of war in Ukraine, we stand together with people of Ukraine and all who are in harms ways. We pray for the end of war in Ukraine and the whole world.

TAX RETURN CLINIC: FREE PROGRAM AT SKEENA DIVERSITY
2022 Tax Return Free program is available to newcomers / immigrants with modest income and simple tax situation.

Steps to book an appointment:
1) Check your eligibility below
2) Fill in the online form;
3) Wait to be contacted;
4) Have your documents ready (in paper or electronically). 


Eligibility criteria:
* Newcomer / Immigrant
* Have a modest income and simple tax situation.
Examples of "modest income and simple tax situation":
* Total family income of $35,000 (1 person), $45,000 (2 persons), $52,500 (5 persons).
* international students


We are part of the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP). A partnership between the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and Skeena Diversity Society.
 
ONLINE WORKSHOPS: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT TAXES IN CANADA
Join us for free online workshops to help you prepare your taxes on your own or to gain more knowledge on the basics of taxes.

REGISTER: Online Workshops 
Thu, March 10 at 7 pm 
Wed, March 16 at 12 pm  

Participants will have an opportunity to submit questions ahead of time. We will provide general answers but will not share any personal information. 
Feel free to book an appointment if you need assistance with your taxes this year. Please review the eligibility criteria

HOLI CELEBRATION RETURNS TO TERRACE
We are very excited to be able to come together and celebrate Holi in person after two long years of the pandemic.

We invite you to join us on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at George Little Park (library park) at 1 pm. Thank you to a group of Coast Mountain College students for assisting in the planning, preparation and the event.

Online information session on the history and significance of Holi is planned for the week leading up to the event. We will let you know when we confirm the date and time. Watch our website and social media.

COVID-19 vaccine information for Terrace (including 5-11 year olds)
SKEENA MALL (next to Sport Chek) – 4741 Lakelse Ave.

Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays (12 pm to 5 pm)

Details:
• All ages (including 5-11 year olds)
• Booked appointments and drop-in
• Registration is needed for an appointment and recommended before drop-in
• Booster doses can book an appointment or drop-in if they meet eligibility (age 12+ and 6 months past second dose)
 
Pharmacy information:
Some pharmacies https://www.bcpharmacy.ca/patients in our community are offering the COVID-19 vaccine for people over the age of 11, by appointment only. Register and book through the province’s Get Vaccinated system https://www.getvaccinated.gov.bc.ca/s/

Please have your Personal Health Number (PHN) with you.
