WPCC Annual Meeting 2021

Due to the ongoing coronavirus global pandemic and the many unknowns still on the horizon for 2021, we have made the difficult decision to produce this year’s Annual Meeting as a Full Virtual Event. Even as we rise up out of this pandemic over the coming months, we are uncertain about future global travel restrictions as well as the comfort level of our Coalition members to fly across the world to participate in person.

Therefore, we are exploring creative new ideas to bring our 2021 Annual Meeting to life online. Please mark your calendars for
September 20-23, 2021 and make plans to learn, share, network and grow with your Coalition colleagues and friends at the 2021 WPCC Virtual Meeting Experience.
In the upcoming weeks, you will be hearing more about our virtual meeting plans, and we will solicit your feedback to find out what topics will be most helpful.

December GCCN Report COVID-19: Impact on Cancer Patient Organizations WorldWide in 2020

The WPCC is proud to be a part of the Global Cancer Coalition Network (GCCN) which was formed in the wake of COVID-19. GCCN is a collaboration of nine global cancer coalitions and alliances, representing 750 patient organizations working on behalf of 14 million cancer patients around the world.

In December 2020, six GCCN members (including the WPCC) collaborated on a survey examining the impact of COVID-19 on the global cancer community. The survey results were announced in GCCN’s Report – COVID-19: Impact on Cancer Patient Organizations Worldwide in 2020 -  on February 4, 2021 (World Cancer Day) at the GCCN’s “Coalition Connection: Ongoing Impact of COVID-19” event. This work updates and extends findings from a survey of cancer patient organizations worldwide first carried out in June 2020.
We’re pleased to say that this survey has already received some media coverage – listen 10 minutes in to this BBC program (plus it was mentioned in the description promoting the program)!
