Soil Testing to Reduce Agriculture Nutrient Delivery
In early 2019 the Soil Testing to Reduce Agriculture Nutrient Delivery (STRAND) program was launched in the Western Lake Erie Basin. The STRAND project’s aim was to assist with meeting the goals of the Michigan Domestic Action plan to reduce total phosphorus and soluble reactive phosphorus through nutrient management and best management practices (BMPs).

A Qualtrics survey was developed and sent to 52 farmers in the summer of 2021 to assess their understanding, implementation, and willingness to continue BMPs for the application of nutrients. Read to learn about their findings.
