As August begins, Learning Machine continues to pave the way toward verifiable digital credentials for government institutions and schools. We announced a Department of Homeland Security grant to prevent forgery and counterfeiting of official documents used in immigration, travel, and other use cases pertaining to citizen and national security. A Congressional briefing with the Federation of State Medical Boards outlined the benefits of self-attesting digital credentials for medical practitioners and patients. Finally, we provided a sneak peek of Learning Machine Transcripts at AACRAO Tech & Transfer: the first product on the market for recipient-owned, blockchain-anchored, self-verifying digital transcripts. Learning Machine Wins DHS Grant
Learning Machine has been awarded a grant from the DHS Silicon Valley Innovation Program to align Blockcerts with the W3C’s specifications for Verifiable Credentials and Decentralized Identifiers. This work will uplift both the open source project and the Learning Machine Issuing System, enabling all of our customers to issue the most advanced forms of verifiable digital credentials available to date.

Congressional Briefing with the Federation of State Medical Boards
In June 2019, the Federation of State Medical Boards and Learning Machine Research released a report outlining different types of digital records and underscoring the importance of adopting the highest-security, vendor-independent open standards for digitally credentialing medical training and patient health records. The Federation and Learning Machine were invited to brief Congress about the report on July 23rd.


Announcing Learning Machine Transcripts at AACRAO Tech & Transfer
The US higher education community has a growing interest in improving academic mobility and enrollment strategies through the use of technology.
