Business for Biodiversity Ireland Update
Lucy Gaffney of our Business For Biodiversity Ireland initiative addressed the Citizens Assembly on Biodiversity Loss on the final weekend in November and discussed how best to accelerate private sector action for nature in Ireland. She highlighted the need to educate our business community on nature-related risk, build capacity to create meaningful biodiversity strategies and develop ways to measure progress and ensure accountability. The BFBI, backed by the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Housing, Local Government & Heritage, aims to bring businesses, communities and NGOs together to find ways to solve these issue. Lucy will be reporting back on discussions around these topics from the upcoming CoP15 in Montreal. Sign up to our Business For Biodiversity newsletter HERE. The Citizens Assembly is to have one final meeting in January before finalising its recommendations.
