Membership Campaign Underway

The 2020 membership drive for the Friends of Hillsboro City Library is Underway.
The Friends organization was formed in 1995 to support library projects throughout the year. The group strives to fund the extra programs and events that make the library a focal point in the community.

The Friends group annually funds the Summer Reading Program for children. This year it impacted almost 2,000 area youth with fun, constructive, educational activities. The Friends also host Author Luncheon Speaker Series throughout the year that bring noted authors to Hillsboro. All Friends members are invited to usher in the holiday season at the annual Friends Holiday gala. This year's gala will be held on Friday, December 6th at 7pm in the beautifully decorated library. The beauty of the season will be enhanced with harp music provided by Texas Christian University Harpist Olivia Grissom.

There are various levels of contributions recommended, but donations in any mount are welcome and appreciated. For more information on how to make a tax-deductible contribution, please contact the library at 254-582-7385.
Food for Fines

The Hillsboro City Library invites patrons to support the local food drive and have their fines forgiven. For each canned or nonperishable item donated, $1.00 in fines will be forgiven. All donations accepted must be marked with a current freshness date.  Donated food will be given to the “Food for Families” Food Drive to be held Friday, November 22.  The donations are used to meet the ongoing needs of people in Hillsboro and other communities served by Hillsboro Interfaith Ministries.

To take part in the library amnesty program, bring your food items to the main desk in the library. Library staff will waive the appropriate amount of your fine and collect your food for distribution to the “Food for Families” Food Drive. Patrons are invited to take this opportunity to return your overdue materials to the library and wipe out your fines while helping the community.

For more information call (254) 582-7385 or visit the library at 118 South Waco Street.

The Hillsboro City Library will be closed on the following days in November:
  • Thursday, November 28
  • Friday, November 29
  • Saturday, November 30
Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
