What's Happening

Hillsboro Library to Host Book Signing for Local Residents

Local residents Wayne and Jolyn Elmore will be at the Hillsboro City Library on Saturday, March 26, from 10 am until 2 pm to sign copies of their recent book, Inspire Before You Expire: a True Story of Love and Survival. The book is Pastor Whitfield’s first published writing.

The words of the book speak to the hearts and souls of America and those nations who follow her lead. So often we are blinded by our blessings, successes and liberties until we establish our own rules and regulations as to what is right and what is wrong. This book is designed to alert men and women of America and the world just how far we have varied away from what is right. The road we choose will determine our ultimate destination.

Superintendent Earnest W. Whitfield is a second generation in the "Church Of God In Christ." In 2007 he heeded the call to begin a new ministry in Hillsboro and eventually founded “The Potter’s House Experience” Church of God in Christ in Hillsboro. Whitfield has resided in Hillsboro for forty-one years. His wife, Gloria, is a life-long resident of Hillsboro and they have been married for 41 years. They have two sons and six grandchildren. Pastor Whitfield plays several musical instruments and has composed many songs and recorded two gospel albums. His interests include writing poems, as well as short stories, skits and plays. Whitfield and his youngest son, Carlton, recently appeared on the “Steve Harvey Show” showcasing Carlton’s invention, “Whoop Triggerz Plus.”

The library is located at 118 South Waco Street, one block south of the Hill County Courthouse. For more information call the library at 254-582-7385 or visit the library’s website at
