Good morning, afternoon, or evening,
Last week we received our supply list. There was only one thing on the list which is time. How did you do? How did you manage your time last week? Do you have an "A" in the class? If you don’t know what I’m talking about. STOP and check out last week’s tip before continuing. If you didn’t stop, we all have 24 hours each day to work on our goals. Decide on three things to accomplish daily and watch your life change.
When you graduate to the next level, it requires a different level of work. What we do in elementary school is definitely not acceptable in high school. Now that you will be in a different stage, you will have to find a way to know your status. This is why I called this tip “Progress Reports”. Progress reports allow you to check in to see if you are failing or passing. See you cannot wait until you find out your final grade before you ask the teacher for help. Once your grade is posted, there is not a chance for extra credit.
So how do you check your progress report of time? Using the rules of last week, did you treat everyday as a gift? Did you complete your goals on a daily basis? Did you block off 30 to 60 minutes for your big goal of the year? Answer these questions honestly and that will give you your progress report. A broken clock may be right twice a day but time itself never lies. Over time, you can always tell what you worked on in the past week, month, or year. Get into a habit of not just reflecting on an annual basis, but on a weekly or monthly basis. Why? Checking your progress will give you time to improve your grade before the class ends. You will be surprised at how this will keep you accountable for the goals you are seeking to accomplish.
