 Lisa Phu (she/her) is the creator, writer, and producer of Before Me, a 5-part story that follows her mom’s life, from Cambodia to America, over the course of decades. And the long overdue conversation between Lisa and her mom about their family’s history. Based in Alaska, Lisa is also an award-winning journalist and has reported for print and public media for more than a decade. She was the lead facilitator for StoryCorps' Alaska initiative. In 2017, Lisa was an AIR New Voices scholar and, in 2021, an AIR Edit Mode fellow. She’s currently Deputy Editor for the Alaska Beacon, where she produces Private Right, a podcast about abortion in Alaska. Originally from New York, Lisa is a first-generation Chinese American and a mom of two daughters.
