Thomas Huxley said, "Try to learn something about everything and everything about something". I think we should encourage our young researchers to always have a great curiosity for the world around them and never stop "digging" until they reach the roots of the problem which they are dealing with.

UIT Summer School 2020
The 19th edition of the UIT Summer School will be held at the Certosa di Pontignano (Siena), Italy from 06 to 12 September 2020 on the theme "Multiscale modeling in heat and mass transfer".
Facing problems in heat and mass transfer which involve important features at multiple scales of time and/or space is a situation that more and more frequently comes up to process engineers and applied physicists. Due to the complexity of phenomena and to the variety of simulation techniques, the tools available to researchers require in-depth knowledge and specific training that usually fall beyond both the MSc programs and many PhD programs. The 19th UIT Summer School allows post-doc and PhD students to cast a glance at tools and techniques most effective in working such kind of problems.

The 8th edition of the European Thermal Sciences Conference, organized under the auspices of the EUROTHERM Committee, will be held in Lisbon, Portugal, from 06 to 10 September 2020. Papers submission deadline is February 28, 2020.

In memoriam
Graham de Vahl Davis, Emeritus Professor at the University of New South Wales and past President of ICHMT, passed away on December 24, 2019, in Sidney, Australia.
