Outreach Ministry in India

On Thanksgiving Day, John, Sudha, and the Bright Beginnings children offered special prayers for All Saints’. Prayers of gratitude for our support; for our journeying with them. Please read this letter of thanks from Sudha and John.
Love, from Bright Beginnings students
Gratitude from our friends in Ponnur, India
Each month Outreach sends money to Bright Beginnings. These funds are used to purchase food and materials for the students. At the time the 2022 Outreach budget was approved there were 42 children attending Bright Beginnings. Now the number of students has risen to 63! John and Sudha are trying to “stretch” the funds, but this is difficult. Might it be possible for you to make a one-time or monthly donation to Outreach in India? Every little bit helps!
Any contribution you could make to Outreach in India via or check would be used to purchase uniforms, food, and materials for Bright Beginnings. There is now a drop down line on for Outreach in India. Checks may be written to All Saints’ Episcopal Church. In the memo line please write: “Outreach – Mission in India”.

Thank you to those who have already and are continuing to contribute! Your generosity is having a huge impact on the lives of children and their families.

Candlelight Tour-Monday, Dec. 26th

On Monday, December 26th, 4-9 PM, All Saints' will be open for this much-loved, popular tour, to include beautiful music and hospitality. This is a wonderful opportunity to share the beauty and presence of Jesus during the Christmas season with thousands of people (yes-in the past there have been over 3,000 who have come through our church for this one evening event!)

We need your help with baking cookies (ahead and can drop them off to store in our freezers in the Parish Hall, labeled "Candlelight Tour", no later than Christmas Eve, Dec. 24th), greeters, ushers, hospitality and cleanup. Please begin incorporating time into your schedule to help out and enjoy the magic and joy of Jesus' birth.

Note- making cookies will save us from having to purchase them later.

The Getting Ahead Program

All Saints is participating in the "Getting Ahead" Program by once again providing meals for the Investigators, Facilitators, Child Care providers and children.  Getting Ahead Program helps low-income families move from dependency to self-sufficiency through education, self-assessment, and mentoring experience.  The Investigators (participants) will take a look at their current situation and plan for the future all while building relationships, setting goals, and resources to "get ahead." This program serves our local community members who generally would be considered our "working poor."  They are all very appreciative of the meals provided by All Saints'.

We now have openings for December and January.  If you would like to volunteer to cook part or all of a meal, provide snacks or desserts, please contact Katy Ackland at or Laura Hammond at
Thank you to all that have already volunteered to help our community and for those that have offered to volunteer for upcoming sessions!

Shoes That Fit change pair of New Shoes at a time

In the Fall of 2016, Dena and Darryl Whiten began a local Frederick chapter,  “Kids With Happy Feet”, partnering with Lincoln Elementary School and Hillcrest Elementary School. Dena and Darryl are members of Waymon AME church and Darryl is also connected with I Believe in Me.  In total, they have donated over 500 pairs of athletic shoes and socks for the kids with the help of co-workers, friends and family.  Entering into this chapter’s 7th campaign, their chapter will be donating at least 100 pairs of athletic shoes with your help to Hillcrest Elementary School! There is a need to make sure that all kids have good athletic shoes that are comfortable for recess and gym class and, most importantly, they need to have Shoes That Fit!

When you give shoes to a child, you give so many other things like Hope, Dignity, and Joy. A new pair of shoes can be life-changing for kids in need. Students who receive in the Shoes that Fit program show an increase in Self-Esteem, Improved Behavior, Higher Attendance and More Participation in Physical Activities.

To those who are interested, Tracy Boyd from All Saints' will provide individual cards with the gender and shoe size beginning November 20th. Once you have a card, you will need to purchase a pair of NEW ATHLETIC shoes according to the card provided to you. You will need to give purchased shoes, with card attached, to Tracy by/before November 30, 2022.  Once you have signed up to participate, please email Tracy at

Prayers for Ukraine

“ We pray for peace. … We pray for a just peace.
We pray that the lives of innocents and the lives of any
human child of God will be spared.
We pray that our leaders will find a diplomatic way, a nonviolent way. “

Presiding Bishop Michael Curry, Faith Vigil for Peace in Ukraine
