     Parish of the Transfiguration

     News:  August 25, 2021

You are God
(Celtic oral tradition - first millennium)

You are the peace of all things calm
You are the place to hide from harm

You are the light that shines in dark
You are the heart's eternal spark

You are the door that's open wide
You are the guest who waits inside

You are the stranger at the door
You are the calling of the poor

You are my Lord and with me still
You are my love, keep me from ill

You are the light, the truth, the way
You are my Saviour this very day.

NO SUMMER PROJECTS THIS WEEK

There were no new project stories submitted.  Sorry folks!
Perhaps our summer project series has run its course.

Thank you to those who participated this month. 😉
Why Worship?

A new four-week online study series, coming this Fall!

What is worship and why do we do it?  What do we bring to worship and what does worship bring to us?  How does worship make the Church's life and mission possible?  How did Jesus and the earliest Christians understand worship?

Come learn what the Bible can teach us about these and many other questions, in a new online study series.
Starting on September 13, we'll meet on Monday evenings from 7pm-8pm, using the parish Zoom link.

See you there!

✨   TODAY'S QUOTE  ✨

"We're never so vulnerable than when we trust someone
- but paradoxically, if we cannot trust,
neither can we find love or joy."

                                                      ~ Walter Anderson

It's TOMATO season, MY FRIENDS!
The fields are being ripened and the crops are coming off.
Some are spending time in the kitchen, busy... canning stewed tomatoes for soups and chili. Others have pulled out the recipe for chili sauce or salsa.
Who among us, doesn't like a good toasted tomato sandwich or sliced tomatoes with supper, when the August sun ripens the product on the vine!?
This week we THANK GOD, our CREATOR for the fields of Chatham-Kent and for the blessed tomato, found in our backyard gardens or offered to us by a neighbour or friend who has an abundant crop this year!
Enjoy!  Offer thanks!  Share with others! Savor the offering of the season!
