A Reflection on a child's baptism....

Dear Child of God,

You are loved more than you may ever know.  Your parents love you so much.  Your grandparents spoil you as good grandparents do - with amazing food, gifts, stories, hugs, snuggles, smiles and more.  Your aunts and uncles think you are the cutest, and all turned out and stood with you and for you at your baptism.

The love doesn't stop there.  Your church family loves you so much!  They have welcomed you as a Child of God and promised to support you with ongoing love and spiritual guidance along the way.

By water and the Spirit, you are claimed dear Child of God. God's promises and call are true.
"Do not be afraid, for I am with you."
"I have called you by name, you are mine."
"Come and follow me."

You are promised.  The promises were made for you and on behalf of you, by your parents, your god parents, and the whole community of faith.  Not only does God make a promise and claim on each one of us, but we make promises to each other, and for each other, as God's people together.  Some day when you are a bit older, you will hopefully affirm those promises on your own. But for now, know that your big loving family and this community are holding you.  And there's nothing more beautiful and wonderful than that!

God's Richest Blessing Child of God, as you grow in your faith!

Holy Baptism
To teach, baptize and nurture......

On Saturday, September 4, 2021,
the Church of the Redeemer welcomed

Claire Lauren Fleming
into the Christian family of faith through baptism.

Claire is the daughter of Brett and Hilary Fleming,
and granddaughter of Alex and Sheila Fleming.
Claire's family are grateful that The Rev'd CJ Adams was available to fulfill the role of celebrant on short notice,
when Fr. Justin fell ill.
A Baptism Poem

May God bless and keep you always,
May your wishes all come true,
May you always do for others
And let others do for you.

May you grow up to be righteous,
May you grow up to be true,
May you always know the truth
And see the lights surrounding you.

May your hands always be busy,
May your feet always be swift,
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift.

Why Worship?

A new four-week online study series,
that just started this past Monday (September 13th)!

What is worship and why do we do it?  What do we bring to worship and what does worship bring to us?  How does worship make the Church's life and mission possible?  How did Jesus and the earliest Christians understand worship?

Come learn what the Bible can teach us about these and many other questions, in a new online study series.

It's not too late to join in.  The study group meets on Monday evenings from 7pm-8pm, using the parish Zoom link.

My apologies for being a day late with the newsletter. It's been a crazy week full of lots of extra activities.  No matter what we each face in life, we all do the best we can in any given moment and on any given day.
The "Good News" is that that is enough.
I am enough! You are enough!
God's richest blessing on your week!
Until next time...
