Sustainable governance

Effective, sustainable boards review their performance, skills and composition. We’ve just published our Sustainable Governance resource to help you do just that. Other governance checklists already exist, so why did we bother? Read on and judge for yourself!

Postcards back from the edge

If you own a set of our 20 postcards, they're now a collector's item! We've redesigned the entire set, improving some and adding 20 more. The new edition contains 40 postcard provocations and the only way to collect the set is to follow @TheLastingD. We're releasing them one by one on Twitter every Monday.
We'll invest in a print edition once we're back face to face. There's still a handful of original printed sets available for sale here if you're quick.
We've finally got around to looking after the Lasting Difference account on Twitter again! Follow us there to keep up to date.

Collaboration part one

If you're a Lasting Difference Symbol Holder, remember we love showcasing your fantastic work. Talk to us about featuring in newsletters, @ us on Twitter (@TheLastingD) or LinkedIn or just drop us a line.

Collaboration part two

Our work on collaborative social care commissioning is almost done for the year, with a couple of last-minute chances to join us and our partners in Feb and March:
1. CCPS Collaborative Commissioning guide launch, 8th February. Collaborative Commissioning defines and provides concrete guidance on what the Feeley review called 'collaborative' or 'ethical' commissioning. Book via Eventbrite here.
2. Promoting Variety in short breaks for unpaid carers. On 10th March we'll conclude our exploration of the three stages of 'market shaping' with Shared Care Scotland and Healthcare Improvement Scotland. Find out more and book here.

Collaboration part three

Have you read the Lasting Difference book? Was it mince or magic? With its third birthday approaching, we need to decide whether to update it, burn it, or something in between! Please help us decide by sharing a star rating or short review on Amazon.
What did you think of Making a Lasting Difference? Please rate it on Amazon to help us and others understand its worth.
Our next newsletter will be out in just a couple of weeks, with lots of exicting stuff to share between now and March.

New and much improved: separate Lasting Leadership guides to:
  • Sustaining energy, focus and self-care
  • Lateral leadership
  • Succession planning and knowledge management
Can't find your copy of the toolkits? From now on they'll be at the bottom of our newsletter for ease. Click the image for whichever download you need.
